Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Marine Superintendent to strengthen our global assurance efforts. This role is vital in upholding our high standards for marine safety, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence
This role reports to the VP of Marine Operations & Assurance and is part of Höegh Evi’s Marine Operations & Assurance team.
You will be assigned responsibility for the vetting and assurance performance of LNG carriers (LNGCs) and floating storage & regasification units (FSRUs). Working closely with Captains, Fleet Management, HSEQ, and commercial stakeholders, you will plan and execute SIRE, TMSA and MTMSA programs to maintain our safety performance. This requires high safety awareness, expert knowledge of marine regulations, and the interpersonal ability to co-operate with the teams onboard the vessels, while engaging confidently with relevant stakeholders and authorities.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will combine hands-on operational experience with strong regulatory knowledge and a proactive mindset.
To be shortlisted you should bring all, or a mix, of the following:
· Master Mariner or Chief Officer License with Senior experience on LNGC or FSRU vessel or equivalent shore-based vetting / assurance role.
· Minimum 3 years’ shore experience as Marine/Vetting Superintendent, HSEQ Manager or similar.
· Solid knowledge of OCIMF SIRE 2.0, PSC regimes, TMSA and MTMSA.
· In depth knowledge with ISM, ISPS, SOLAS, MARPOL and SIGTTO guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will lead a wide range of assurance activities, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure continuous improvement across our fleet.
· Plan, schedule and coordinate all SIRE inspections; ensure vessels always hold a valid inspection.
· Compile and submit high-quality vetting replies in OCIMF; follow up on comments to maintain a smooth approval process for LNGCs and FSRUs to be accepted by customers.
· Monitor KPI trends for SIRE & PSC and drive corrective and preventive actions to keep results within company targets.
· Preparation and execution of TMSA and MTMSA audits; secure good cooperation with vessels, clients and auditors.
· Conduct internal audits, navigation assessments and internal inspections; follow up of non-con-formities and observations in Company Safety Management System.
· Liaise with Technical Superintendents to identify recurring navigation-equipment issues and im-plement improvements fleet-wide.
· Monitor emerging international and local regulations.
· Provide expert advice to commercial and project teams on vetting, navigation and marine risk.
· Maintain strong relationships with oil-major vetting departments, OCIMF, SIGTTO, class and au-thorities.
· Promote safety culture internally and facilitate knowledge transfer across the fleet.
